XML Localization Interchange File Format

XML Localization Interchange File Format (XLIFF)
This format maps the different kinds of data to be localised into a standardised format. XLIFF documents can contain not only the data to be translated but also other data that is required for the workflow. As a result XLIFF documents could also be used to manage the translation process.
The file extension for XLIFF files is .xlf
